Students and Staff are encouraged to take part in the donate and participate social action project starting in November 2019.

The aims of the Social Action Project at Westminster Kingsway College are to:

  • Promote pro-social behaviours in students

  • Develop student understanding of homelessness and social action via tutorials and enrichment

  • Raise donations for the Crisis at Christmas appeal from staff and students

The WKC Social Action Project aims to support the work of  Crisis over the 2019 Christmas period.

Crisis is a national charity that caters for single homeless people across the UK.

From 23rd – 29th December each year, the Kings Cross site of Westminster Kingsway College becomes one of the Crisis at Christmas Day Centres.

At each of the Day Centres, rough sleepers are able to enjoy warm meals and take part in fun activities such as arts and crafts, massage and physiotherapy and live music and entertainment.

They also have access to the Internet, healthcare, dentists and opticians and legal, employment, housing and benefits advice.

Receiving items of warm clothing will definitely brighten their experience of the 'season of goodwill'.

The clothing and hygiene items gathered through this Social Action Project will be presented to Crisis on Friday 13th December 2019.
